Job Title: Datacenter Engineer
Location: Itasca, Illinois (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional to support our team in delivering secure, highly available, and resilient data center environments for critical banking infrastructure. Our team plays a pivotal role in deploying and maintaining enterprise data center operations, working closely with internal and external partners to uphold operational excellence and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee physical data center operations, including rack and stack deployment, structured cabling installation, hardware break-fix, and asset management.
- Ensure data center equipment is properly powered, cooled, and maintained in alignment with physical security controls.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams, external vendors, and remote hands staff to support operational and strategic data center initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation while operating within formal change, incident, and access management processes using standard systems and tools.
Required:
- Direct experience with physical data center operations, including rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware break-fix, and asset management.
- Solid understanding of power, cooling, and physical security controls within an enterprise data center environment.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, and DCIM systems.
- Ability to collaborate in a team setting, communicate clearly, and document work in regulated and safety-focused environments.
