Job Title: Field Safety Specialist
Location: Remote, with travel in & round Albany, NY.
This is a Part Time role!
Job Summary: Seeking a technically strong Field Safety Specialist to support safety and compliance across operational worksites. The role will primarily support overhead electric and substation crews, including field visits, safety observations, inspections, and promoting safe work practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field visits, safety audits, inspections, observations, and compliance assessments.
- Support electric transmission, distribution, substation, construction, facilities, and fleet operations.
- Provide safety guidance to field crews, leadership, and contractors.
- Support safety meetings, briefings, contractor safety activities, emergency response, and storm restoration.
- Identify hazards and promote safe work methods and continuous improvement.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of safety experience, with safety responsibilities comprising at least 90% of overall duties.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and OSHA 1910.269.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, ANSI standards, and utility safety practices.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle; mileage reimbursement available.
- Ability to travel regularly to field sites throughout the service territory.
