Job Title: Fire Life Safety Engineer
Location: Sanford, North Carolina (Onsite)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional to support commercial fire suppression and life safety systems at a high level. Our team values hands-on expertise and a commitment to safety in ensuring the facility meets regulatory standards and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair fire alarm and fire suppression equipment, including detectors, control panels, and various suppression systems.
- Ensure inspection, testing, and compliance of life safety equipment and egress needs per local, state, and federal codes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to lower-level technicians, creating or updating operational procedures as needed.
- Document work thoroughly in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and communicate with customers regarding service status and corrective actions.
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED and basic electrical safety or Qualified Electrical Worker training required.
- At least 2 years’ experience with maintenance and repair of commercial fire/life safety systems, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematics, and demonstrate flexibility responding to facility needs.
- Physical capability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, and perform repetitive tasks over the course of a shift.
