Job Title: Lead Java Developer
Location: Birmingham, Alabama (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are supporting a contract opportunity for a back-end focused engineer to help implement, modify, and maintain authentication policy and custom components that support customer and employee authentication. Our team is looking for someone who can work across APIs, compiled code, and security-focused application environments while contributing to a distributed, agile organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, modify, and maintain authentication policy and customized components for customer and employee authentication.
- Develop back-end solutions using compiled code and work with APIs to support application and security needs.
- Collaborate with a large, distributed agile team across time zones and physical locations.
- Participate in production deployments and rotating on-call support, with flexibility for occasional late-night or weekend work.
Required:
- 5 years of experience working on enterprise-level systems.
- Back-end development experience with compiled code such as Java or C#.
- Understanding of APIs and exposure to protecting applications within application and security environments.
- Java/Linux background with OCP containers preferred over a Windows background.
- Open to converting to a full-time employee if a need becomes available.
- High school degree and bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
