Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of complex spacecraft hardware. This role will translate engineering designs into production-ready processes, develop manufacturing documentation, resolve production issues, and partner with engineering teams to improve manufacturability. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded manufacturing engineer who can work independently across mechanical and electrical hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and revise manufacturing work instructions and work orders for fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Translate engineering drawings and designs into production-ready manufacturing processes.
  • Support vehicle integration, testing, and complex hardware assembly.
  • Investigate manufacturing non-conformances and support root cause analysis, corrective actions, repair, and rework.
  • Provide hands-on production floor support and technical guidance to technicians.
  • Partner with design engineering teams to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and production schedules.
  • Support manufacturing processes involving mechanical assemblies, avionics/electronics, wire harnesses, and welding.
  • Review engineering drawings and support DFM/DFA and manufacturing process improvements.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or automotive manufacturing environments supporting complex hardware or production.
  • Manufacturing Engineering or Production Engineering experience.
  • Experience developing manufacturing work instructions and work orders.
  • Experience with vehicle integration, testing, or complex hardware assembly.
  • Experience investigating and resolving manufacturing non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical manufacturing and working directly with production technicians.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

  • Avionics or electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Welding/manufacturing process experience, including titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, orbital tube welding, or NDT.
  • Wire harness fabrication or manufacturing support experience.
  • Cleanroom, ESD, or contamination-control experience.
  • IPC-620, J-STD-001, or IPC-6012 certification.
