Job Title: Materials Designer
Location: Beaverton, OR (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are partnering on an exciting opportunity for a Materials Designer to support footwear materials design work for a high-profile, fast-paced environment. Our team is looking for a technically strong creative who can bridge concept and execution, bring a sharp eye for materials and finishes, and help connect development teams with new materials and vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Develop materials direction across knits, leathers, suede, synthetics, and wovens for lifestyle and performance product applications.
- Collaborate with core and flex studio footwear product design and design excellence teams to support material creation and development.
- Connect development teams with new materials and vendors while understanding the business and production side of materials.
- Translate ideas from concept to practical application and present the thought process through moodboards and clear storytelling.
Required:
- 10+ years of technical skill in footwear materials design.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working on NSW, non-sneaker, and performance products.
- Strong experience with materials and finishes, including a wide range of material usage across knits, leathers, suede, synthetics, and wovens.
- Awareness of the business and production side of materials.
- Portfolio demonstrating process, moodboards, and progression from concept to finished work.
