Job Title: Mobile Engineer
Location: Lafayette, Indiana (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are supporting an opportunity for a skilled facilities professional to help keep critical building systems operating safely and efficiently. This position offers the chance to work on HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment while supporting day-to-day operations through proactive maintenance and responsive repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems, equipment, and components.
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior and exterior repairs, and related grounds and production equipment.
- Carry out facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations.
- Update work order status in real time, submit P-card receipts daily, and use CMMS systems for all completed work.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Universal CFC recovery certification is required, or it must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Minimum of four years of technical experience in building engineering with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, production equipment repair, and maintenance is required.
- Valid state driver’s license is required, along with availability for call-in work and the ability to perform other assigned duties.
- Knowledge of overall system design and applications is required.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial refrigeration and/or supermarket refrigeration is required.
- Preferred: Experience using CMMS work order systems, working knowledge of Word and Excel, and two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC.
