Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Location: Northborough, Massachusetts (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are representing a highly technical opportunity for an Engineer supporting secure network operations, infrastructure reliability, and operational resilience across a multisite environment. This role is ideal for a candidate who can combine hands-on troubleshooting, security-focused administration, and disciplined documentation to help keep critical systems performing at a high level.
Responsibilities:
- Support remote sites and data centers, including smart hands assistance for infrastructure and network equipment.
- Administer enterprise-grade firewalls, routing and switching infrastructure, and application delivery platforms to support availability, performance, and security.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, port scanning, centralized log monitoring, alerting, patch tracking, and secure backup and recovery processes.
- Participate in on-call coverage, follow NERC CIP standards, maintain technical documentation, and support installation, upgrades, and restoration activities.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Must have firewalls, routers, and switches background, plus experience with TCP/IP, routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, VPN technologies, and general network security best practices.
- Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history and ability to travel up to 25% by vehicle.
