Job Title: Project Manager (Payments Transformation)
Location: Remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking a high-impact Project Manager to lead a large-scale payments transformation initiative for a global client. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role requiring a strong “driver” mindset—someone who can independently lead complex programs, push cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure delivery in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of payments domain expertise and proven experience orchestrating enterprise-wide transformation programs, with the ability to build governance frameworks, drive process standardization, and deliver measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end execution of a large-scale payments transformation program, driving alignment across business, finance, technology, and external partners
- Establish and implement integrated payments processes with strong Payment Service Provider (PSP) governance, compliance, and operational controls
- Take ownership of program delivery—proactively identifying gaps, driving decisions, and ensuring progress across all workstreams
- Design and implement governance frameworks for the PSP lifecycle, including contract management, process standardization, and performance oversight
- Drive the creation of a single source of truth for PSP data, ensuring data integrity, availability, and alignment across systems
- Lead the transition from settlement-based accounting to transaction-based (trip-date) accounting models in collaboration with finance teams
- Define and enforce KPI-driven performance monitoring, including risk-based metrics, reporting frameworks, and escalation protocols
- Operate as a hands-on leader—working closely with client teams on a day-to-day basis to drive execution and resolve challenges
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in program/project management, with a strong track record of leading large-scale transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in payments domain, including exposure to PSPs, payment lifecycle (transaction, settlement, reconciliation), and payment operations
- Proven ability to independently drive complex programs, influence stakeholders, and operate effectively in ambiguous environments
- Experience establishing governance frameworks, process standardization, and KPI-driven performance models
- Strong understanding of data integrity, system integration, and reporting within payments or financial systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across global teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with global PSPs (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Fiserv, etc.)
- Background in finance/accounting concepts related to payments (settlement, reconciliation, fee structures)
- Consulting or advisory experience leading transformation initiatives
