Job Title: Research Associate
Location: South San Francisco, California (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated professional to contribute to a highly collaborative bioscience team focused on advancing research and development in vector production. Our team is dedicated to supporting innovative programs through hands-on involvement in laboratory operations, driving critical outcomes in cellular biology and protein purification.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cell culture activities including thawing, maintaining, transfecting, and cryopreserving mammalian cell lines.
- Produce and purify vectors for various research programs utilizing sterile technique and laboratory best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to acquire, characterize, and document vectors to meet project requirements.
- Support laboratory management functions such as receiving, tracking, and maintaining reagent stocks and supplies.
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in life science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience in cell culture and protein purification.
- Demonstrated proficiency with sterile technique and mammalian cell line handling, maintenance, and banking.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques including cloning, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, and digital PCR.
- Practical knowledge of protein expression/purification, transfection, transformation, and chromatography systems such as AKTA.
