Job Title: Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, California (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated professional to drive the development and execution of complex cell-based assays that support innovative drug discovery projects. Our team values hands-on laboratory expertise and scientific problem-solving skills to deliver impactful contributions to technical assay development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain mammalian cell lines and support routine cell culture operations.
- Develop and optimize high-throughput cell-based assays for quantification of mRNA expression using qRT-PCR techniques.
- Execute complex cell biology assays utilizing high-content imaging and image analysis platforms for weekly compound evaluation.
- Analyze experimental data and communicate results to project teams through presentations and written reports.
Required:
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field; Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience also considered.
- Direct, hands-on laboratory experience and proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques.
- Experience with cell-based bioassay development, including high-throughput qRT-PCR and immunofluorescent staining for high content imaging analysis.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
