Job Title: Senior Engineer
Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are supporting an opportunity for a hands-on laboratory professional to join a controlled testing environment focused on product characterization and experimental engineering work. Our team is looking for someone who can plan, execute, document, and analyze lab-based testing with strong attention to detail, traceability, and clear communication.
Responsibilities:
- Independently plan and perform laboratory tests and experiments to characterize combination products and drug delivery systems in a controlled setting.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including 3D printers, tensile testers, viscosity testers, environmental chambers, arbor presses, and basic wet-lab tools.
- Prepare protocols, execute test work, document deviations or unexpected results, and author technical reports with clear methods, results, limitations, and conclusions.
- Analyze data, investigate test failures or process issues, support preventive maintenance and calibration activities, and coordinate testing across multiple concurrent projects.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline.
- At least 4-5 years of relevant professional experience performing laboratory testing, product characterization, or experimental engineering work.
- Demonstrated experience planning or executing tests, analyzing data, and documenting technical work; strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- High attention to detail, a methodical approach to experimental work and data integrity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
- Ability to work 100% on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Preferred: experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, combination product, or other regulated industry; experience with wet-lab methods and product or device testing; working knowledge of GLP and GDP; experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP or Minitab; experience with 3D modeling or CAD; basic programming experience such as C or Python.
