Job Title: Senior Substation Project Engineer
Location: Pomona, California (Hybrid – Onsite Wednesday & Thursday)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Project Engineer with substation engineering/design and project management experience to support electrical design projects, contractors, field activities, and technical engineering work.
Responsibilities:
- Develop project scope, conduct pre-engineering job walks, and coordinate with Construction, Maintenance, Operations, and other stakeholders.
- Manage engineering/design projects, contractors, schedules, costs, equipment, and design deliverables.
- Review and approve engineering designs, cost proposals, purchase orders, change orders, and technical documents.
- Provide technical support to field teams and support reliability, emergency, and NERC-related requirements.
- Mentor engineers and maintain a safety-conscious work environment.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a Scientific/Technical/Math field.
- 2+ years of substation engineering and design experience preferred.
- Strong electrical engineering/design experience; candidates from Oil & Gas, Facilities, Industrial Electrical Design, or similar backgrounds may be considered.
- Experience with AutoCAD, including developing/updating electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical design, conduit, grounding, one-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, and power engineering.
- Must be willing to visit substations for field job walks, typically 1–2 times per month.
