Job Title: Staff Electrical Designer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented electrical design professional to support a diverse portfolio of projects with a focus on substation and T&D engineering services. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to electrical design deliverables, collaborate with project teams, and help drive quality and accuracy across complex project work.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and site and facility design.
- Prepare drawings for production work, including design layout, calculations, drawing sequence, and presentation.
- Execute design changes, incorporate redlines or mark-ups, and support ongoing project revisions.
- Review reports, drawings, and tests to help plan and design projects while maintaining quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of related experience, or an Associate degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or High School with a minimum of 9 years of progressive detailing and design experience.
- Advanced understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel.
- Advanced ability to use both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
- Advanced knowledge of design, calculations, and design systems, along with the theory and practices of the assigned discipline.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers in a multi-discipline project team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.
