Job Title: Staff/Senior Transmission Engineer
Location: Bloomington, Minnesota (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking individuals to join our team dedicated to world-class design and engineering of high voltage transmission projects. Our team delivers innovative and reliable solutions, supporting a variety of transmission line initiatives across multiple industries.
Responsibilities:
- Execute transmission line design from conceptual phase through to design completion, ensuring all project requirements are met.
- Prepare and review specifications, data sheets, and technical bid summaries for transmission equipment and materials.
- Conduct engineering studies including economic conductor selection, lightning performance, and grounding calculations.
- Support project teams with data analysis, report compilation, client presentations, field inspections, and design updates using various CAD-related software.
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and minimum 3 years of transmission engineering experience (consulting preferred); or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful FE exam completion, and minimum 3 years of transmission engineering experience; or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and minimum 2 years of transmission engineering experience (consulting preferred).
- Substantial and meaningful experience working with 765kV overhead or underground high voltage transmission lines.
- Strong knowledge of standard civil/structural engineering principles and transmission engineering/design industry practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD or transmission analysis programs.
