Job Title: Substation Design Engineer
Location: Pomona, California (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are supporting the search for a Substation Design Engineer on behalf of this company, where the role plays a key part in delivering safe, reliable, and well-coordinated engineering work. Our team is looking for a candidate who can support design development, stakeholder coordination, and technical review across substation projects while helping maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop preliminary scope of work and coordinate pre-engineering job walk meetings with stakeholders.
- Create, approve, and publish meeting minutes and design specification documents.
- Manage in-house design projects and provide technical engineering and design support to the design team.
- Support contractor coordination, review design proposals, and assist with purchase order requests, change orders, and service sheets.
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor Degree in a Scientific, Technical, or Math field.
- Two or more years of experience in substation engineering and design.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Design Manager, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- General knowledge and experience with guides, standards, codes, and methods used to perform complex assignments.
- Experience conducting field meetings, discussing scope of work, and taking detailed notes.
- AutoCAD design experience in developing and updating drawings.
