Job Title: Technician – Integration Engineering III – B
Location: Merritt Island, Florida
Shift: B shift: Monday – Friday 2pm – 10:30pm
Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture, assemble, and test aerospace structures, focusing on New Glenn (GS1) First Stage & Second Stage components.
  • Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment, ensuring optimal efficiency and safety.
  • Assist in the transition from development to production, including first articles.
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions through modification, rework, repair, and maintenance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure recurrence control.
  • Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and aerial lifts.
  • Utilize precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships, contributing to a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, specifically aerospace structures (Sheetmetal).
  • Proficiency in drilling aluminum, composite, and titanium structures.
  • Experience in heavy or secondary structures drilling is required.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic digital literacy, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Comfort working at heights, climbing ladders/stairs, and in small, restricted areas.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting items up to 35lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.

Desired:

  • Industry certification, trade school training, or degree in a related field.
  • Proven success as a hands-on technical leader.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a strong work ethic and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes.
  • Experience in handling large aerospace structures and assembling tight tolerance components.
  • Familiarity with new product introduction processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma certification.
  • Military experience.

Desired Skills:

  • 5-10 years of aerospace or related aviation integration experience.
  • Familiarity with high-pressure systems, hydraulics, wire harness routing, and hardware installation.
