CNC NC Programmer (Siemens NX) – Aerospace Manufacturing

NOT an IT, Software, PLC, or Computer Programming Position

Location: Huntsville, AL (100% On-site)

About the Role

This is a CNC Manufacturing / NC Programming position. This is NOT an IT, software development, PLC programming, robotics programming, or computer programming role.

We are seeking an experienced CNC NC Programmer with a strong machining background to develop and optimize CNC machining programs for complex aerospace components. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience programming multi-axis CNC machine tools using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) and understands machining processes, tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and precision manufacturing.

If your background is in software development, computer science, IT, automation programming, PLC programming, or coding applications, this position is not a match.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize NC programs for:
  • CNC Mills
  • CNC Lathes
  • Multi-Axis Mills
  • Multi-Axis Turning Centers
  • Vertical Turning Lathes
• Develop machining strategies that convert engineering models into efficient machining operations.
• Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling documentation, and manufacturing instructions.
• Select cutting tools, calculate feeds and speeds, and optimize machining cycles.
• Design custom tooling and fixtures as needed.
• Work closely with machinists, manufacturing engineers, and design engineers to support production.
• Improve machining processes to reduce cycle time while maintaining quality.
• Support configuration management and manufacturing documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC NC Programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) for NC programming.
• Experience using Vericut (or equivalent NC verification software).
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes—not software programming.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience creating setup sheets and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of:
  • Tool selection
  • Fixture design
  • Custom cutting tools
  • Feeds & speeds
• Experience machining:
  • Inconel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Aluminum Alloys
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
